Kanto Tactics patch notes
What changed in each version of Kanto Tactics, in short, and what it means for the builds on this site. The game is updated almost every day; the full official notes are on einoow.com/kanto-tactics/changelog and in the game (megaphone button in the lobby).
What version 32 did to the meta
We replayed the same boards against the same 30 opponents (the strongest boards of our version 31 search) on both builds. A 5-Fire board (Arcanine, Rapidash 3★, Magmar, Ninetales, Flareon 3★ with Electabuzz and Electrode 3★) went from 36% to 52% of fights won: the bigger burn turns Fire from a losing pick into an even one. The best 4-Water board (Vaporeon 3★, Golduck, Blastoise 3★, Staryu, Jynx, Magneton, Electrode 3★) barely moved, 76% → 77%, because Water at 4 only lost 4 Energy per attack and most of its opponents ran Water too. The comps page is already re-simulated on version 32.
Version 32 · October 17, 2026
Balance
- Water synergy: +24 / +30 Energy per attack at 4 / 6 (was 28 / 34).
- Fire synergy: burn of 160 / 240 damage per second at 4 / 5 (was 130 / 200).
- Focus Sash: when it triggers, the holder is cleared of every damage-over-time effect, Leech Seed included, and takes no new ones while untargetable.
- Slow and paralysis: the unit goes back to its normal attack pace as soon as they wear off. Before, it could go a long time without attacking (Moltres most of all).
PvP
- Leaving by absence: 180 seconds away or idle and you are out of the game for good, with warnings at 120 and 150 seconds. Leaving never earns LP.
- No repeat opponents from your last few rounds while someone else is available; the bar marks your next opponent during planning.
- The evolution animation no longer blocks the shop or bench and can be skipped.
Ranking
- Elite titles by position: #1 Champion, #2–10 Legends, #11–30 Masters, #31–50 Aces (in PvP, from Lance's league with 100 LP).
- Elite Four and Lance leagues: the LP you win depends on how many humans were at the table. Losses are unchanged.
- The Campaign leaderboard is retired for now. New ranking panel with search and country filter.
Other
- Battle Tower blessings no longer offer options that would do nothing, and each blessing offer has one free reroll.
- Starmie, Lapras and Raichu show their active form, and their card says which items switch it.
- A Battery saver switch (30 fps) and automatic 30 fps on phones that struggle.
Version 31 · October 16, 2026
PvP
- Losing a round costs less: each surviving enemy deals 1 / 2 / 4 by star, +1 if it costs 4–5 (was 2 / 3 / 6 and +2). Stage base 2 / 6 / 6 / 8, and +6 per round in the final stage.
- One more component for beating the Rocket round (2-8) and the legendary bird (4-8).
Balance
- Focus Sash: 1.5 s untargetable and inactive, cured of poison and burn, back with 1 HP and its shield; it now also survives damage over time and one-hit KO moves.
- Scyther: Swords Dance became X-Scissor, with Bug-type empowered hits.
- The Charmander line now counts as Flying for synergies.
- Psychic swaps no longer drag melee attackers into the enemy back line.
Version 30 · October 16, 2026
Items
- Completed items keep both components' stats and add their effect, like in TFT. To compensate: Scope Lens crit 45% → 25% and ×2 → ×1.9, Leftovers 2.4% → 1% HP/s, Rocky Helmet reflect 25% → 18%, Shell Bell drain 35% → 15%, Focus Sash shield 30% → 10%, Quick Claw starting Energy 40% → 20% (15% → 8% on cast), Life Orb +35% → +24%, HP Up +12% → +10%.
Campaign
- Brock and Sabrina easier, Koga harder, Lorelei with less Water; Giovanni, Bruno and the Champion tougher.
Version 29 · October 16, 2026
Changes
- Eevee evolves by its items, with no randomness (see the Eevee guide).
- League-based PvP matchmaking. The shop lock lasts one round.
- Water (6) 40 → 34 Energy, Poison (5) 140 → 130, Gust 125 → 200, Rock Slide 140 → 200.
Version 28 · October 15, 2026
New
- Friend rooms, Simplified Chinese.
- Every ability is physical or special; Starmie, Lapras and Raichu switch ability with their items.
- Voltorb and Electrode use Charge instead of Self-Destruct.
- PvP: TFT-style economy, 8 rounds per stage, interest up to +5 at 50 gold. Duplicate items stack fully.
