Kanto Tactics PvP guide
PvP (beta) is a table of 8 trainers with 100 HP each; the last one standing wins. If the queue can't find 8 people, Kanto Trainers (bots) fill the table. All numbers below are read from the game.

- Interest: +1 per 10 gold you hold at the end of the round, up to +5 at 50 gold (Campaign and Tower stop at +4).
- Win or loss streak: 2 in a row +1, 3 in a row +2, 5 in a row +3.
- Refresh the shop: 2 gold. Buy XP: 4 gold for 4 XP. You also get 2 XP free every round.

Each Pokémon has a shared pool: 29 copies of each 1-cost, 22 copies of each 2-cost, 18 copies of each 3-cost, 10 copies of each 4-cost, 9 copies of each 5-cost. The shop doesn't offer Pokémon you already have at 3★. Shiny: 1 in 200.
Losing a round
Damage = stage base + per enemy Pokémon left standing (1★: 1, 2★: 2, 3★: 4; +1 if it costs 4 or 5). Stage base: stage 1: 0, stage 2: 2, stage 3: 6, stage 4: 6, stage 5: 8; from round 5-2 the base rises +6 per round.
Rounds
The table moves through Oak's Lab, wild Pokémon, battles against other players, the Safari Zone draft, Team Rocket, Snorlax and a legendary bird. Planning time: stage 1: 20s, stage 2: 25s, stage 3: 30s, stage 4: 30s, stage 5: 30s. The round waits for the longest fight, and the shop stays open meanwhile (the board is locked).
Safari Zone: everyone takes a Ball with a Pokémon and an item. Players pick two at a time, lowest HP first; if your time runs out you get a random one.
Loot from AI rounds: 2-8: 1 of 3 components plus 1 component; 3-8: the same; 4-8: 1 of 3 combined items plus 1 component.
Ranked
Leagues, from the bottom: Boulder, Cascade, Thunder, Rainbow, Soul, Marsh, Volcano, Earth, Lorelei, Bruno, Agatha, Lance and Champion. Each league is 100 LP and your first 3 games place you.
| Place | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| LP | +40 | +30 | +20 | +10 | -10 | -20 | -30 | -40 |
LP is adjusted to your skill rating. Since version 32 the top of the ranking also gets titles by position: #1 Champion, #2–10 Legends, #11–30 Masters and #31–50 Aces (from Lance's league with 100 LP). In the Elite Four and Lance leagues, the LP you win depends on how many humans were at the table. Beta: rankings may be reset.
What to build
The comps page lists the strongest level-8 boards we found. In PvP you see your opponents' boards: tap a player in the bar to check theirs before the fight and keep your carry away from their biggest hits.
